It's Trumpet Tuesday! Join the Legion Band on July 14 at 7:30pm in Kollen Park as our fabulous trumpet trio lights up the stage. Please join us for the first free concert of the 2026 season in beautiful Kollen Park! We are welcoming guest conductor Pujan Bhattarai and outstanding bassoon player Tanner Reynolds, both of whom are from Zeeland Public Schools. Bring your chair, bring a friend, and come on out to the park!

The Legion Band will be marching in the annual Memorial Day parade that starts at 8th Street & Central Avenue, heads east to Lincoln, then south to 16th Street, ending at Pilgrim Home Cemetery (370 E 16th St, Holland, MI). Please join us after the parade at 11:00 AM for a program of remembrance in the cemetery, featuring music by the Holland American Legion Band.

The Tulip Time Parade is an annual celebration you won’t want to miss! Find information about the parade route here, and please cheer for the Legion Band as we go by!

Our Tulip Time concert celebrates the melting pot of styles that comprises America’s 250 years of musical history. We’re breaking out the birthday music, including “Sesquicentennial Exposition March” composed by John Philip Sousa to celebrate American’s first 150 years, and “Legions and Legacy” by Jim Stephenson, which honors the Legion Band’s 100th anniversary. In addition, we will feature several beloved and well-known patriotic pieces, including “America the Beautiful” and “Salute to the Armed Forces.” Our program also honors the work of Percy Grainger, an Australian-born composer and arranger who became an American citizen in 1918. In a nod to America’s English roots, we will delight you with Grainger’s band standard entitled “Lincolnshire Posy,” as well as “Country Garden,” both of which echo rural English folk songs. Finally, the Band welcomes guest artist Maria Vomlehn Flurry, who will perform “Concerto for Marimba, Percussion and Wind” by Ellisor. You won’t want to miss this dynamic and varied concert!

Due to the iffy weather conditions, we are moving tonight's Legion Band concert to the Holland Civic Center (150 W 8th St, Holland, MI 49423). There is plenty of parking and chairs will be provided. The concert will be chock-full of fantastic repertoire and some very special surprises! Come celebrate with us as we welcome trombone soloist Tom Allport, who will perform the jazzy “Reflective Mood” by Nestico. We’ll also pull out some fan favorites to round out the season.
